Anyone can use the library and its resources. During library opening hours, you may come in and read, listen to music, access your e-mail, and search the library's online magazines and newspapers.
If you become a library member, however, your library card means you can borrow books, magazines, videos, DVDs, CDs, and audio books from the Medicine Hat Public Library. You may request items from another library in the Shortgrass System and from Public and University Libraries throughout Alberta. A resident library card also gives you access to the library's many online resources from home. For library members living in Medicine Hat who are homebound, the library coordinates a free volunteer delivery service.
Any person living in Medicine Hat or Cypress County can become a member of the Medicine Hat Public Library. There are three resident library cards:
